Synced Blocks

Often, information needs to be included in multiple places within your workspace. But when that content needs an update, it’s complicated to make those corrections repeatedly, one page at a time.

Now you can use Synced Blocks to ensure your content is always accurate and up-to-date. When you make changes to the content or formatting of a synced block, all other copies are automatically updated.

Follow these steps to create synced blocks:

  1. Copy some content
  2. Paste into another page and select Paste and sync from the dropdown menu that appears.
  3. Now your content is synced! Any changes you make will be updated in every Synced Block.

The possibilities with Synced Blocks are endless. Here are some ways you can use them in your Notion workspace:

  • Create synced menus, headers, and footers on every page of your personal website, blog, or portfolio. If you need to change the format or add more information in the future, with Synced Blocks you’ll only have to change one block, and the others will sync.
  • Paste and sync OKRs (objectives and key results) on your team’s homepage, weekly meeting notes, and 1:1 notes. When you make changes to metrics and KPIs in one place, all other synced blocks will automatically update.
  • Keep your company’s Mission statement, Values, or North Star always visible by including them at the top of every new project proposal, decision document, and job posting. If adjustments need to be made, you’ll only have to make them once.
